Scots Kirk
Kingston

Parish: Kingston

The St. Andrew's Scots Kirk is the principal Presbyterian Church in the island. It was rebuilt after the earthquake of 1907 on the foundation of the original Church. The restoration work replaced only three of the original four porticos and reduced the height of the building. Two pairs of columns support a simple main entrance portico. Brick quoins emphasize the eight corners of the building.

Presbyterian missionary work began in Jamaica in 1824 at Hampden in Trelawny. In 1965, the Presbyterian Church merged with the Congregationalists to form the United Church of Jamaica and Grand Cayman.
